Frequently asked questions
Is This Even Legal?
1Is Hemp Flower Legal?
On Thursday, December 20th 2018, hemp was federally legalized by the signing of the 2018 Farm Bill. A cannabis plant that contains no more than 0.3% Delta 9 THC is considered hemp under this bill, and is legal in all 50 states. Marijuana, however, is still considered illegal on a federal level.
2What's the Difference Between Hemp and Marijuana?
Marijuana and hemp are both considered cannabis, so it is understandable that they get confused. The legal difference between the two, is how much Delta 9 THC they contain. A cannabis plant that contains more than 0.3% Delta 9 THC is considered marijuana. A cannabis plant that contains less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC is considered hemp.
3So Will This Make Me Feel High?
The main ingredient in the hemp that this site carries is CBD. CBD is a naturally occurring phyto-cannabinoid and is typically the most abundant cannabinoid in a hemp plant. CBD is non-psychoactive, and thus, will not produce a high.
4Will I Be Able To Pass a Drug Test?
The Hemp Joint can make no claims or guarantees about passing a drug test after the use of our products.
Why Hemp Flower?
1Why Not Tinctures?
Here at The Hemp Joint, we believe in providing you with all of nature's most beneficial cannabinoids in their most natural state, the plant itself! Tinctures are great, don't get us wrong, we just want consumers to have an additional choice. Using the flower, you can make your own tincture at home!
2Why Not Shatter/Extracts?
Pretty much the same answer as above! Using the flower you can produce your own extracts from the comfort of your own home!
We believe in whole plant medicine. When we provide hemp in its' most natural state, our customers get all the benefits of the plant itself. This includes all of the other cannabinoids, terpenes, omegas and more! When you create a finished good out of hemp, you often-times have to strip out the other trace cannabinoids and terpenes! We want to leave them intact.
4Which Product Do I Buy for Juicing?
Unfortunately, we do not have a product for juicing at this time. We are on the hunt though! Most hemp farmers are instructed to harvest the crop and dry it immediately to avoid mold and to preserve their product for extraction. This is sage advice, however, we believe a step is missing. We would like to take the raw, fresh fan leaves and package them in a way to where our customers can juice the leaves themselves! We are diligently working on making this happen and we will let you know when we do!
5Is All of the Hemp Organic?
While we cannot say that the hemp we provide is USDA certified organic, we can tell you that the farms and brands we work with all use organic farming practices. This means they never use any kinds of pesticides, sprays or synthetic fertilizers.
